EN DAG PÅ KUMMELHOLMEN #16
dimitra konstantinidi – Mother’s Hug
26 september 2026, kl 12-18
Artist Talk 14.00 moderated by Abir Boukhari
Six Caryatids, six textile bodies, and a story of separation and return. In Mother’s Hug: 5+1 Stories Spoken Through the Caryatids, Dimitra Konstantinidi takes the six Caryatids of the Erechtheion at the Acropolis as her point of departure. The removal of one of the figures in 1801 created a physical and symbolic separation that becomes the starting point of the work.At Kummelholmen, six circular textile structures form architectural bodies that visitors are invited to enter and explore from within. Through embroidery, textile and space, Konstantinidi symbolically repatriates the displaced Caryatid, transforming the monument into a protective environment — a “mother” — where questions of loss, displacement, home and belonging can take form.At 14:00, Abir Boukhari will moderate an artist talk with Dimitra Konstantinidi, followed by an open conversation with the audience.
