Silent Walk is a movement based, interactive artwork, leading us on pathways through nature and the urban landscape of Vårberg. The participants are both observers and co-creators of the artwork. The group is supposed to stay close together and in the mode of a fine tuned attention over the whole duration of the walk. We intend to shift the perception by going into different modalities of walking and perceiving. Thereby, we slightly shift the focus to experience different aspects of the surroundings. We try to see the unseen and listen to the unheard. By dealing with subtle performative actions we heighten the awareness in the group in order to perceive more delicate information.
The initiators of Silent Walk are dancers and choreographers Ingo Reulecke, Katarina Eriksson and Per Sacklén. They have experience from various fields of performing arts; such as classical stage performances, site-specific art, improvisation and experimental collaborations within different art fields. They have worked with community dance and teaching movement practices for both professional dancers and non-dancers.
Tyst vandring is supported by The Swedish Arts Grants committee.
